THE FRAGRANCE OF SAFETY

Last week we gathered at Challenge House 2 for a meeting.  While there, some of the neighborhood children were also there having fun at a birthday party.  I recognized a couple of the children as having attended a church in the area and I was able to speak to these children for a few minutes about their experiences at church.  One child I asked about what they had learned at the church and they told me “the church is my safe place.”  Then I asked what do you mean by that; and they explained “when I go to church and I act my worst, the people at the church still love me and are kind to me so that church is my safe place.”

WOW!!!

How simple is that message?  Even when we act our worst…GOD is our safe place.  Even when we act our worst…GOD’s people will still offer GOD’s church as a safe place.

PRAISE BE TO GOD AND TO ALL CHURCHES THAT ARE SAFE PLACES TO THOSE HURTING AND IN NEED…AMEN and AMEN!!!!

Since that meeting at Challenge House 2, i have been crying out to our mighty Savior on behalf of all of us I have been praying for so many by name.

I have begged Jesus to ink His love across any needs, any emptiness, to scrawl His hope across any hopelessness, to do a mighty and wondrous work in all our lives …And I am so very very expectant for all of us, Because I know our God is so very very faithful.  And HE is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)
